I’m a biology graduate of Bridgewater College in 2014 and Veterinary Technology graduate of Blue Ridge Community College in 2016. For one year post-graduation, I worked at a 24-hr veterinary emergency practice in southwest Virginia. In 2017, I started at Virginia Veterinary Specialists in Charlottesville and completed my certification as a Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner through the University of Tennessee in 2023. In addition to my CCRP certification, I’ve completed additional training in managing patients with osteoarthritis and am a Canine Arthritis Management Practitioner. My professional interests include rehab and fitness for tripawd dogs, osteoarthritis, geriatric comfort, sports-related rehab and fitness, and behavioral well-being. I’ve been a Fear Free Certified Professional since 2018 and am Walkin’ Wheels Certified to fit Walkin’ Wheels wheelchairs.
I currently have two dogs, Tank and Houston. Tank is a 9 y/o MN mixed breed tripawd and my inspiration for pursuing a career in rehab. Houston is an 11 y/o MN American Staffordshire mix. Houston is my reactive dog and has taught me how to be as kind and patient as possible. Both of them compete in canine scentwork sports and hold titles.
Outside of work and scentwork sports, my hobbies include hiking, backpacking, traveling, cani-hiking with Tank, gardening and reading.
